You can get back up to 15,600 rubles plus 13% of the cost of expensive treatment (for your own treatment or that of close relatives).
Documents you will need
Documents required for the medical treatment deduction
- contract with the medical institution for medical services;
- certificate of payment for medical services with code 1 or 2 (for expensive treatment), issued by the medical institution that provided the service;
- certificate of income (form 2-NDFL, from your employer);
- when paying for treatment, contributions, or medicines for family members, you must also provide documents confirming kinship, guardianship, or marriage (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate);
- passport.

- certificate of income (form 2-NDFL, from your employer);
- payment documents confirming the taxpayer's actual expenses on medicines (cash register receipts, credit order receipts, payment orders, bank statements confirming non-cash transfers, etc.);
- when paying for treatment, contributions, or medicines for family members, you must also provide documents confirming kinship, guardianship, or marriage (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate);
- passport.
Documents required for the deduction on voluntary health insurance (VHI) premiums
- certificate of income (form 2-NDFL, from your employer);
- voluntary health insurance contract or voluntary health insurance policy;
- payment documents confirming the taxpayer's actual expenses on insurance premiums (cash register receipts, credit order receipts, payment orders, bank statements confirming non-cash transfers, etc.);
- when paying for treatment, contributions, or medicines for family members, you must also provide documents confirming kinship, guardianship, or marriage (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate);
- passport.
